To inculcate the sense of responsibility towards the film and television industry of India, and in turn the profession and masses in general, the students are encouraged the growth of the new innovative ideas. An inclination towards research is essential for new innovation. Stealing one foreign film and churning out several hackyned versions is very detrimental for the healthy growth. Research work is the foundation of all future marvels. Be it a simple lad from the fields of Punjab waiting to turn into charming Dharmendra or be it the boy from Gurdaspur to turn into evergreen hero Devanand, the doyen of the film industry, all have tales to tell of their days of struggle. However those were the days of slow pace. Film industry was very disorganised and the television was yet to be born. Behind every single success story, thousands of such aspirants vanished into oblivian, unsung and unrecognised.

Days have changed since then. The Indian Film industry is the largest film industry of the world. The television industry has grown very rapidly. Film & Television industry both are getting organised day by day. Even the government has recognised its due status as an Industry. Never before the Indian film and television industry had seen such a booming time. Crores of rupees are pumped into the films and T.V. Channels. Today it is a source of employment for 2.5 million people. Hundreds of 24 hour channels have come up and they need thousands of hours of program to quench the ever-growing thirst of these channels. Thanks to the opening of the economy and the industrial growth. Multinational companies have moved in a big way and each one of them has huge budget for advertising and marketing their products.
